Pipe Jacking

Pipe Jacking

This is a system involved with directly installing pipes behind a shield machine or pushing the steel pipes themselves with the use of powerful hydraulic jack from a work pit. As such the pipes form a continuous string in the ground. Excavation is performed manually or mechanically with the use of a shield machine or a tunnel boring machine (TBM). Pipe Jacking is a long established method of installing various types and sizes of pipes utilizing the appropriate system. Substantial length could be achieved in a typical pipe jacking drive with practical engineering considerations.
