Horizontal Drilling

This is a procedure of forming a horizontal bore by pushing the steel casing through the ground from a work pit, crossing underneath any facility, space, or structure, to a receiving work pit. Spoil is removed from inside the casing by means of a rotating auger. An Auger Boring Machine bores through soil with a cutter head and auger to install steel pipe casing. This procedure has limited steering capability however in the hands of trained personnel; this system can provide the relative accuracy needed for some projects.
