The Guided Auger Boring Method, also referred to as Auger Microtunnelling, is a three-stage process of installing small diameter pipe casings with the precision needed for gravity sewer and water lines. Pilot bores are performed and steered through the ground by utilizing a slanted face at the cutting head, allowing for deviation correction as necessary thus achieving high accuracy in line and grade. The pilot hole is enlarged to the diameter of the final pipe casing after the pilot tubes have been installed, and the final casing pipe is pushed into place using the pilot tubes as a guide.
